A Message from the CEO
I am honored and proud to serve as the CEO of AMCHA – The Israeli National Center for Psychosocial Support of Holocaust Survivors, Second-Generation Survivors, and Victims of Trauma.
AMCHA provides professional and compassionate support to 9,000 people through a network of 18 centers and branches throughout Israel, with a professional team that includes psychologists, social workers, psychiatrists, and therapists from a range of disciplines. Our services include individual, couples, and group therapy, the operation of social and rehabilitative clubs, and personal support provided by dedicated volunteers – all with an emphasis on long-term, compassionate, and individually tailored care.
Recognizing the growing need for mental health support at this time, AMCHA also provides professional, sensitive, and accessible assistance to those affected by the events of the “Iron Swords” war – including civilians, survivors of the Nova festival, family members, and discharged soldiers – as well as those affected by the “Rising Lion” war. Our role is to provide a safe and supportive space where people can process their experiences and receive tools to strengthen their emotional well-being and resilience.
Throughout my career, I have led organizations dedicated to treating post-traumatic stress and supporting people facing difficult life circumstances. I bring with me extensive experience from a long career in the Israel Defense Forces, where I served with the rank of Colonel, as well as significant management experience in some of Israel’s largest and leading social organizations.
I feel deeply privileged to lead such an essential organization, one that is guided by a profound belief in the power of treatment, human connection, and hope. I intend to continue expanding AMCHA’s activities, strengthening our community-based services, and developing new partnerships that will enable every person who reaches out to us to find a warm, professional, and compassionate place of support.
Warm regards,
Orly Gal
CEO – AMCHA
