Treatments
Most of AMCHA's employees specialize in mental health treatment: they are experts in psychiatry, clinical psychology, or therapeutic social work. These professionals help survivors unload the heavy burden in their hearts, process it, and maintain joy in life and full functionality. The treatment is provided individually, in groups, or in a family setting, according to professional need.
Clubs
In most centers, AMCHA operates social-rehabilitative clubs managed by social workers. The survivors meet each other on a daily basis and engage in cultural activities of their choice: lectures, choir, theater, memoir writing, Bible study group, and more.
Volunteer visits
Hundreds of AMCHA volunteers operate throughout the country. Our volunteers receive professional guidance and continuous support. They visit survivors in their homes, converse with them, and assist them with daily matters.
Services for the second generation
In the State of Israel, there is no law granting special status to daughters and sons of Holocaust survivors. AMCHA conducts activities for them in the mental and social spheres, recognizing the intense need in their hearts, using internal budget, participants' membership fees, and assistance from the German government.
